Forgiveness is such a GOOD thing and it takes SO much courage to achieve - to let the thing that torments you GO. You husband has my utmost respect for that Kim!

PS- I never went to hospital or jail for that-yet. **** -sand I did, on both counts! - I wasn't always the peace-nic hippie you see today! LOL
            -Boo
My husband's brother was shot by a "nut." 20 years later my husband, Mark, sat next to him in a restaurant and told him he forgave him. The "nut" broke down sobbing. His life is a hell, and he relives it every day, same as my husband did, until he forgave. I was priveliged to witness.

Well, Karen is all out of posts, so her alter-ego, Boo is here! :o) I actually agree that you can't have peace if your neighbour doesn't want it, but you can use your intelligence to avoid outright conflict and to achieve a change in your neighbours perspective.... at least, that's the goal. You can also achieve your own inner peace along the way. ;o)
            -Boo
Kimmy? some people are NUTS ? Thus far you have not been confronted by such- LOcal fool- went to many houses to steal a car- OLD man saw him leave and did NOT use gun. MAN went across-kicked open door- shot a mom and 3 kids as dad slept upstairs- 2 girls dead...many others before the man was caught. Yes drug related...also killed girlfriend and burned her abode down.

TV this morning- average food shipped 1,300 to 2,000 miles ?Insane- *** Local grown....I buy from or do it myself. *** I have witnessed MYSELF in the moment- as to what words emerge- or what shovel I swing at one determined to act out in Harmful manner. PS- I never went to hospital or jail for that-yet. ****

Don't become the evil you deplore.
            -kimberly
I disagree. I would say you can't have fighting unless there are 2 sides willing to.
            -kimberly
Because you can't have peace UNLESS your neighbor wants peace. I'm out. Have a good one.
            -SCORPIO MOON
Zar, why let it get to blows in the first place?
            -kimberly
I question not your honesty. I will take you at your word until proved otherwise. It is your understanding of politics that I question. :P Yeah, right kim. I'm going to let my enemy punch my face while I communicate saying......STOP IT! STOP IT!
            -SCORPIO MOON
Standing up against a violent and oppressive system designed to generate wealth and power for an elite few is honest enough for me. And to stand up against violence one cannot use violence, otherwise one finds oneself in a paradox. And to actively seek to bring about changes in the structure of our economy by growing food locally, for local consumption is also honest enough for me. ;o)

Fighting? or communicating honestly
            -kimberly
snow is coming down in a fury upon us here, looks like someone's shaking up a snow globe. -kimberly We don't get nearly enough snow over here! - Now more snow would be worth demanding - 'cept it'd be a total waist of energy! You think what I do isn't honest Zar? *v*
            -karen
As a child- a simple quiet steadfast- no -could set off so many triggers you da thunk I used Violence ????
